MDA Summer Camp 2015 Sponsor Day

    WOW! What an AH-Mazing day we had at the MDA Summer Camp Sponsor Day at Happiness is Camping!

Every year for one full week, this amazing camp hosts kids with Muscular Dystrophy, for a week full of fun and safe outdoor activities, along with opportunities to engage in a variety of activities such as horseback riding, swimming, adaptive sports, arts and crafts, dances and much more.  MDA Camps allow these campers to stretch their comfort zones and grow independence and confidence as they spend a week away from home. It also allows the parents/caregivers a brief break from their roles and duties so they can rejuvenate themselves.

Through aggressive fundraising from MDA sponsors, such as ERA, this camp is absolutely free of charge for the camper and the return on investment is priceless! This year is the 60^th anniversary that MDA has started this camp. It is an amazing experience for the campers, families, and volunteers.

For several years now, ERA Central has participated in this Sponsor Day Event.  Every year, sponsors are invited to come to camp and spend the day with this very special group of children. We did a tie dye pillowcase project with them and they thoroughly enjoyed it! The smiles! The laughs! We were all very touched by these kids! We can’t wait till next year to spend another day with them!
